I Call These 'Summit Stones...'

I call these 'Summit Stones'.....
I usually only place these 'Stones' and the 'Muse' when out on some adventure.
On occasion, I have sent off a few as well to folks who are doing things that give back.
Over the years, after gathering many of these stones on coastlines, islands, beaches, summits, and around waterfalls, I decided to splash a bit of paint on them and give them back.
Actually, someone said something to me that helped me decide to do so.
Putting a bit of paint on them was my way of expressing ideas around the elements.

The 'Adventure Muse' was put together with quotes and perspectives discovered in many kinds of journeys as well as to share some thoughts about what the 'Summit Stone' elements mean. The quotes reflect on the nature of Adventure experiences...

I believe we really need to consider what each of us has been given within the wilderness opportunities placed before us. And then to consider giving back in many varied ways by getting out and expending energy that supports not just our own goals but those of the bigger picture - be it advocacy, trail building, cleaning up a beach, giving to a wilderness charity, time with youth, whatever...

Please accept these small gifts and the spirit they were made in. I have placed them countless times with a summit register, on a small deserted beach, at a trail head, or even on another adventurers' car windshield, when I've finished a journey and wanted to share some of it - even just anonymously...

This is not some kind of marketing gimmick, nor would these ever be for sale. The 'Stones' are as real as they feel; the words of the 'Muse' are as real as each of us makes them... They are just an offering. I guess people will make what they will of them... If you do enjoy them, then pass something along or give something back to someone else you see on their own journey.

May the spirit and meaning you create for yourself and others during adventures be forever present... DSD
